WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT UNQUIET SPIRITS....
"This is a beautifully written, suspenseful tale
complete with a lush backdrop of a Northern Canadian small town. The
plot is full of twists and turns that leaves the reader guessing why
up until the very end. Ms. Lloyd creates a wonderful cast of
characters from the headstrong, confident Kit and the strong and
deliciously alpha type in Bart to the ghosts and the myriad of
friends and relatives determined to help save Kit. I read this story
in one sitting and enjoyed it so much. Once again, the author has
spun a great story I highly recommend."

"5 Hearts!...The story has all the
mystery and suspense one could look for in a romance and yet has a
bit of the paranormal when one adds the ghostly lovers of Kit's dead
mother and the man who was her true soul mate. Does Kit find who is
behind all this? Will the answer come from the couple from beyond? A
must have for anyone's collection who loves romantic suspense."

Kit Schofield is leaving her position as head of
Schofield Pharmaceuticals. As an heiress, she feels it's time to move
on. The day she leaves the company, someone tries to run her over with
their car. Is it a random act of violence? Or is someone trying to
kill the rich beauty?
Bart is the son of one of Kit's mother's many husbands. After having
grown up together, he is determined to find out who is trying to kill
Kit, but his feelings for her are anything but brotherly. He follows
her to a family resort as a self-appointed bodyguard.
Unquiet Spirits follows the young couple as they struggle against
their feelings for each other and the threats of a clandestine killer.
Kit's family reunion turns into more than she anticipated when she
comes across the wrath of a jealous aunt and the discovery of a
sibling she didn't know she had. Kit must face the fear of being
stalked by an unknown killer and reconcile feelings for Bart that go
beyond brotherly love in addition to facing ghosts from the past -
literally.
I found Unquiet Spirits enchanting and the characters engaging. I
devoured it all in one night, anxiously reading to find out who done
it and guessing at the possible suspects along every turn. The
repartee between Kit and Bart was bright and the ghosts added an
element of fun to the mix. As the third in a series, I wasn't sure if
I might miss some details having not read the previous books, but this
story stands on its own merit. Unquiet Spirits was a fun read which I
would recommend.

Kit Schofield wants to take control of her life, but first she needs
to know who is trying to take her life. After two close calls, Kit
finds herself at Spirit Lake resort; a family business she inherited
after her Mother’s accidental drowning. Bart Thornton, her hunky best
friend since childhood, is not about to let her out of his sight until
this would be killer is caught. The problem is, Kit and Bart have
feelings toward each other that are a little more than friendly, and
Kit is having trouble reconciling the change in their relationship.
When the two are visited by a pair of lusty ghosts with a message of
warning for Kit, the skeletons in the family closet begin to rattle
and the secrets they uncover threaten to tear the family apart.
Unquiet Spirits is inhabited by an enjoyable cast of characters. From
eccentric Grandma Johanna to bitter Aunt Elsa and the fickle chef,
Uncle Paavo, the reader will be thoroughly caught up in the lives of
this kooky cast. The sexual tension between Kit and Bart is electric
and a lot of fun to watch. This story has a good mix of suspense,
romance and spooky goings on. This is the third book in the author’s
Dangerous Waters series; I’m going to check out what Bart has been up
to in the first two. A keeper!

After years of being the head of a major corporation, Kit Schofield
was walking away from it all. She didn’t know where she was going or
what she was going to do with her life; she just knew it would be
something different. Of course, she also didn’t know that she would
spend the next few months recovering from a mysterious hit and run
accident. And when she was almost shot returning home from the theater
months later, she began to think that these weren’t just
accidents—someone wanted to see her dead!
Bart Thornton wasn’t about to let that happen. He had known Kit since
she was five years old. He had watched her grow from a little brat
into a beautiful and incredibly desirable woman. How had he missed
that transformation? When had it changed from simply loving her, to
being in love with her? All that mattered at the moment, however, was
keeping her safe—and alive. They would figure out their future later,
after they found out who was trying to kill her. And with more than a
little help from the ghosts of Kit’s mother, Laila, and her mother’s
soul mate, Raoul, Bart did everything in his power to do just that.
While everyone had always assumed that Laila and Raoul had not died as
the result of any foul play, those two fun loving spirits set the
record straight. So while Bart and Kit helped Laila and Raoul with
their final wishes so they could rest in peace, Laila and Raoul did
what they could to lead Bart and Kit in the right direction and keep
Kit as safe as possible. And if along the journey some other minor
mysteries got solved, all the better. Who knew which mysteries were
connected?
UNQUIET SPIRITS was a thoroughly engrossing experience from the first
word to the last. Kit was a wonderful blend of innocence, uncertainty,
strength and sensuality. Bart was perfect as a childhood friend turned
lifelong partner. The protective instincts brought out in him by Kit’s
dilemma warmed my heart. And it was comforting to believe that it
might be possible for a much-loved parent to be able to help in life
even after they are gone. I absolutely loved the addition of Laila and
Raoul!
UNQUIET SPIRITS is a “must read” for anyone who believes in a true,
deep abiding love—in a soul mate. Dee Lloyd has created what is sure
to be a classic. I know I’ll be reading it again…and again…and again!
