| For months, Cadie Haywood has yearned for
the healing peace of the house on Nighthawk Lake which she recently
inherited from her beloved Pop. Here, she can come to terms with all the
upheavals in her life. However, Marc Banachek, Pop's unfriendly - if
gorgeous - tenant, insists that she honor his lease. He and his huge
ungainly dog, Lurch, refuse to leave the guest cabin.
The
last thing Cadie needs at this point is a man. But the hard-bitten
ex-cop turned crime-writer with his unshakable integrity and deeply
buried vulnerability proves to be irresistible. Marc tries to keep his
distance but he finds Cadie's zest for life and feisty nature too
attractive.
Ironically, just before he died, Pop who had prospected all over North
America, found gold on his own land. Cadie won't sell the property. When
the attempts to frighten her into selling escalate to attempts on her
life, Marc realizes how much she means to him. Together they discover
who is trying to kill her and admit their love.

What people are saying about MINE...
Cadie
Harwood has said goodbye to too many people in such a short time. A
visit to her late grandfather's home on Nighthawk Lake seems to be just
the place to relax and paint. Or so she thinks!
Marcus
Banachek, ex-cop, is a tenant of her grandfather's who writes real-life
police novels. Never mind that he's gorgeous and protective and all that
other good stuff! After all Cadie needs him especially with all the
"accidents" happening around the property.
Ms.
Lloyd writes a wonderful contemporary romantic suspense that twists and
turns and twists again! A definite Good Read!

MINE builds
in intensity and excitement to a fine, rip-roaring ending. Dee Lloyd
offers pulse-pounding excitement leavened by a tender love story.

I don't
usually read contemporary romance without some kind of paranormal
element. But from the first sentence in MINE I was drawn into the book
by the suspense interwoven so skillfully into this love story.
Dee Lloyd brought the characters to life, and I hope to read more of her
books in the future. On a (1-5) scale I give this one a shining 4.

Dee Lloyd's
MINE sparkles with imagination, creatively lending a new twist to the
age-old prospector's tale. The sexual energy and the counterpoint of
danger are carefully balanced in this tale of romance and mystery. The
action builds to a crescendo that leaves the reader both breathless and
satisfied..
Arcadia Haywood, Cadie, arrives at Nighthawk Lake emotionally wounded
following the breakup with her fiancé, and the deaths of her father and
grandfather. Since she had also been a nearly fatal car accident several
months before, Cadie hopes for both physical and emotional recovery in
the peaceful Canadian countryside. But those hopes are quickly dashed.
As soon as she sets foot on the property of her new home, she spies a
man in apparent danger. Stick in hand, she is prepared to bludgeon an
enormous dog that seems to lurk menacingly over the attractive Marcus
Banachek.
While the dog Lurch turns out to be harmless, Marc finds himself nursing
an old football injury. Taken with Cadie's spirit, Marc quickly finds
himself inexplicably drawn to the granddaughter of his former employer,
affectionately known as Pop. Forced to stay in the main house with Cadie
while he recovers, despite the fact that she had intended to banish him
from the property as soon as would be possible.
Each character attempts to deny their mutual attraction. But as danger
builds and priorities are reshuffled, their growing love cannot be
denied.
Both
Cadie and Marc, in Dee's wonderfully skilled hands, become remarkably
vivid characters. And as their mounting passion sweeps the reader away
in lovely orgasmic bliss, the lurking orgasmic bliss, the danger
realigns the passion in exquisite balance. As fear and threats escalate,
both Marc and Cadie find themselves growing beyond their past and their
fears. As the danger of those who covet what belongs to others, in this
case a gold mine, Marc and Cadie discover the true meaning of "mine," a
possessive given and accepted freely in a loving and equal relationship.
Bravo,
Dee, for the wonderful word play and the joyful celebration of love!
This reviewer truly looks forward to many more tales from the pen of
this talented author..

Arcadie
Haywood's life is becoming more complicated by the day. Visiting George
Haywood's Northern Ontario property for the first time since her
grandfather's tragic death from a fall down a flight of stairs, Cadie
starts to notice many things that don't add up.
Like the string of accidents that seem to be plaguing her. Like the
mounting evidence that her grandfather's home has been searched. That a
book her father specifically wanted her to see is missing. The one that
has all the information about the extremely valuable mining capabilities
of the very land that she now owns..
To complicate matters further, she isn't alone on the property. Her
grandfather had an assistant who spends his spare time writing violent,
graphic murder mysteries. Marc Banachek is a very sexy, strong willed,
extremely attractive man who seems to have earned George Haywood's
complete trust. Does that mean that Cadie can trust him as well? She's
going to have to find out in a hurry, because whoever it is that wants
that missing book, wants it now!
Dee
Lloyd can always be counted on for fast paced, exciting romantic murder
mysteries. Fast becoming one of my favorite suspense authors, Dee writes
strong, intelligent women who challenge the men around them. Her stories
never fail to keep me on the edge of my seat to the very end, which
comes far too soon!!
